John J. Miller, Interim Director of Choirs and Ensembles
John has been a music and drama teacher for the past 36 years, 11 years at Locust Grove Mennonite School, 7 years at Rosslyn Academy (Nairobi, Kenya), the past 16 years at Lancaster Mennonite High School, one year at Greenwood Mennonite, and one year at Hinkletown Mennonite. He is a graduate of Manhattan School of Music and Eastern Mennonite College. Directly after College he spent 2 years at a children's home in Espelkamp, Germany. He served on the Worship Commission of Lancaster Mennonite Conference for about 7 years and is also a member of the Susquehanna Chorale. He and his wife, Helen, are members of Mellinger Mennonite Church. They are the parents of two adult children, Wendell Epp Miller, whose wife Rachel, is pastor at San Antonio (Texas) Mennonite Church and Frances, who lives in Sperryville, Virginia. Frances is a fiddler, drummer, performer, and teacher--and drives a veggie oil car.
